Mr. Woods was born in Washington, DC, and has lived the majority of his life in Prince Georges County, MD. He is married and the couple has two children.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Carson-Newman College in 1985. Thereafter, he graduated magna cum laude from the Master of Arts Degree Program in Community Counseling, University of Maryland at College Park. Mr. Woods has actively engaged in the field of counseling for 23 years. He has practiced at the current Upper Marlboro location for 19 years. Mr. Woods holds licensure with the State of Maryland as a "Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor", and is also certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor, Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor, and a fellow of the American Psychotherapy Association.
Mr. Woods is a professional member of the American Counseling Association, the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, and the International Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors.
Mr. Woods has led workshops and seminars on Active Parenting, Suicide Prevention, Issues concerning Addictions and Faith, as well as Depression.
